Less than 1/3 of Christians vote on a regular basis. Haralson County has over 100 churches with very strong membership and attendance. Our Churches are the most important asset and pillar of our community.
Our nation was founded as a Republic of individual States united on the principle of individual freedoms. We have freedom to believe as we choose, to express our beliefs, and to assemble publicly and worship according to our beliefs.
With our freedom comes great individual responsibility. We have a fundamental responsibility to defend our freedoms by voting in our elections for the candidates who best represent our values.
We must ensure that Christian values are strongly represented by the elected officials who govern over our nation. Issues like free speech, freedom of worship, healthcare, immigration, abortion, taxation, regulation, public safety, and education are on the ballot at least every two years.
We look to our Pastors for leadership and guidance and to preach the word of God. Pastors inspire us, help guide our actions, and shape our values in the service of our Lord. A Pastor may or may not make specific political endorsements from the pulpit. God, through his almighty grace, gave each of us the ability to learn and reason and to apply our convictions based on our values.
